New Girls and Boys Golf Coaches Announced!

StephanieTriayCoach Stephanie Triay will coach Creekside High School’s Girls Golf Team. Coach Triay started playing golf as a member of her high school golf team in Pittspurgh, PA. She played recreationally in college and enjoys playing on many of the area courses. Coach Triay moved to Florida to attend FSU where she earned her Bachelor and Master’s degree in Special Education. She is an ESE teacher at Creekside.

Coach David Coach David HudsonHudson has accepted the position of Boys Golf Team head coach. Coach Hudson is excited about starting a new chapter in his coaching career by becoming the Boys Golf Coach. He has 29 years of coaching experience in basketball, volleyball, and football. His coaching stops have included 16 years at Ribault, 5 years at St. Augustine, and 8 years at Creekside. Coach Hudson looks forward to building on the foundation that former Coach Jimmy Bilsky has laid.

 Meet both coaches on Tuesday, May 24th at 6:00 in the Media Center
All students interested in playing golf during the 2016-17 school year should plan to attend. Parents are also encouraged to attend this meeting.

Creekside Athletics welcomes Coach Gerson Penza as the Head Boys Soccer Coach!

 Coach Gerson Penza
Coach Penza started his illustrious soccer career playing on the island of Curacao. He was an NAIA and NCAA collegiate athlete at both St. Gregory’s University and Flagler College.  He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Sports Management from Flagler College and his MBA from The University of Phoenix.  Coach Penza has a tremendous passion for coaching competitive and high school soccer and enjoys helping players develop and improve their technical skills as they grow their understanding of the game.

CreeksiCoach Yatesde Athletics is pleased to announce that Coach Mandy Yates has been hired as the Head Girls Cross Country Coach.

Coach Yates started running as a middle school athlete in Ohio. She was an NCAA collegiate athlete at Ohio Northern University where she earned multiple NCAA All-American awards of distance running. She grew tired of the cold winters in 2011 and moved to the Sunshine State. Coach Yates qualified and ran in the US Olympic Marathon Trials in 2012. She continues to share her love of running with her current training partners, her husband and kids.

Coach Yates will meet and greet all parents of students interested in joining the Girls Cross Country team on Tuesday, May 24th at 6:00 PM in the Media Center.

Photography, Filming and Videotaping

Per FHSAA Policy 34: 34.1.1 Representatives of a school’s athletic interest of a visiting school may not photograph, film or videotape their team’s or contestants’ performance without first obtaining permission from the host school prinicpal or his/her designee. Photographers, videographers and their equipment must be positioned so that they do not block the view of any spectator. 34.1.2 No representative of a school’s athletic interest that is not participating in a contest may photograph, film or videotape all or part of the contest unless permission to do so is granted by the Principal or his/her designee of each school that is participating in that contest. No photographers will be allowed on sidelines without permission from the Principal or Athletic Director. All broadcasts of athletic competitions must be pre-approved by the Principal or Athletic Director. Download broadcast application here.
